Case Studies

Patient: female; 32 years old

1Presentation: Persistent pain in the right lower quadrant and right thigh for the past three days. No complaints of back pain.

Physician evaluation: Examination revealed a 3/8-inch shortening of the right leg with a scoliosis. The heel was raised.

Resolution: Marked improvement following injection of nerve trunks; after the second injection, pain was relieved. Further examination revealed tenderness in the area of L2 in the paravertebral area. Infiltration of L2 trunks resulted in immediate pain relief. Injection was repeated on day 3, without need for any further treatment.
